Graduate Certificate in Bioethics

Overview

The University of Dallas offers a Graduate Certificate in Bioethics. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, this program equips students with the philosophical and theological foundations necessary to engage today’s most pressing bioethical challenges.

Students complete 10 credits of graduate coursework, including specialized seminars taught by UDallas faculty. The program is designed both for undergraduates seeking professional preparation in medicine, research, or bioethics, as well as for physicians, clinicians, and professionals seeking advanced training for service in healthcare or hospital ethics committees.

Curriculum

The Graduate Certificate requires 10 credits of coursework:

  • PHI 5344 Bioethics    - 3 credits

  • THE 5345 Bioethics Issues  - 3 credits

  • THE 5341 Fundamental Moral Theology  - 3 credits

  •  Capstone project - 1 credit. 

 

Admissions

Applicants may enroll as degree-seeking or non-degree-seeking students. Students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs may begin the certificate, and practicing professionals are also welcome to apply.
